Grouse & Claretat Rowsley dates back to the 19th Century and was originally the old Station Hotel which was built for Queen Victoria when she travelled from London to Chatsworth. She was then carried from Rowsley to Chatsworth House. We re-opened following a refurbishment Spring 2012. Our bar, restaurant & rooms have all undergone a lovely new look, traditional with a modern twist. This is very much a destination venue on the A6 between Matlock, five miles away and the market town of Bakewell, three miles away, with Chatsworth house being just two miles from here. This olde worlde venue, with its open fire, has retained a cosy atmosphere despite being a large venue with seating for 180! We have an excellent reputation for serving tasty dishes from a main menu as well as a range of chefs specials which include fresh fish dishes. For those wishing to prolong their stay and maybe explore this attractive part of the country we can offer top class accommodation or, alternatively we have a caravan park with electrical hook-ups, hard standing pitches, and tent pitches available all year round. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
