Old Beams Inn is a very attractive old village pub in the centre of the New Forest with country views of horses in the fields all around.
This thatched building dates back to the 6th Century and the name is derived from a 13th Century beam which is rumoured to still be there.
Inside is one room with lots of olde worlde nooks and crannies to encourage good conversation. With the main emphasis on food, they are famed for it being fresh, homemade and good value.
Everything is made from fresh ingredients and prepared in-house, even the salmon and BBQ ribs are home-smoked. The steak and ale pie has to be tasted as does the baked apple surprise sweet.
If your mouth is watering and you are not too far away, visit the friendly locals and the passers by.
