The Swan is located in the large village of Ash Vale, a residential area on the Basingstoke Canal. This is pretty, rambling country, 30 square miles of Ash Ranges, so many walkers park here, enjoy a five mile hike and return for lunch or tea. Historically the pub was owned by the Tupper family. It used to be run as a pub for the army and even had a rat pit outside and bare-knuckle fighting took place here. Refurbished in November 2006, we have two open fires are lit during the winter months and quiet background music encourages good conversation in this relaxed, friendly venue. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair. You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines. Real ales are a very popular alternative to the wine and we have a good selection with the local brew, Hog Back TEA being a particular favourite. Come and try this rather special pub in the near future. You will be made very welcome.
