The Blundell Arms is situated in the rural village of Horwich on a hill. Built in 1741, it used to be a court house and the cellar was a mortuary. Today, the three cosy real coal and log fires which are lit every day during the winter offer quite an intimate dining experience in a welcoming setting. On a clear day there are views from the windows over the whole of Bolton, right across to Blackpool and the Tower. We are close to the Reebok Stadium, Smithalls Country Park, Bolton Arena and Bolton Football Club. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities, both having received awards. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair. They usually include five fish dishes. You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. During the summer months you may enjoy your meal in our large garden, whilst relaxing in the sunshine. There is an excellent choice of wines to complement your meal and Cask Marque accreditation ensures your real ale is served to perfection. Although primarily a destination food house we have many local regulars who come to enjoy a pint with friends at the bar and take part in the weekly quiz. There are always the monthly theme nights to attend. Make sure you come and see us next time you are down this way. You will be given a warm welcome.
