The Griffin, a lovely large building which was formerly a bank, offers you plenty of food, drink and live sport entertainment. We are one of the one of the last truly traditional style pubs left in Cumbria, surrounded by new wine bars we offer a welcome change! Our atmosphere suits everyone, where quality food and drinks can be enjoyed throughout the day. In the summer you can go al fresco, soaking up the sunshine until late into the evening, sat at one of our street tables. We are very conveniently placed for many people of all ages including commuters and tourists who come from the railway station next door. As we are located in the City Centre the Griffin is part of a good weekend circuit but also welcomes a loyal regulars crowd throughout the week. We always have a relaxed, very friendly welcoming atmosphere, being extremely friendly, but of course are more up beat on a Saturday night. We are an ideal choice for all diners and with a varied menu available every day you will find a wholesome meal of your choosing. No one is excluded as there is very good disabled facilities. With value for money food and drink plus an excellent environment all the time you must make this your first port of call when in the area. We look forward to seeing you.
