Mundy Armsis located in the village of Mackworth on the A52 Derby to Ashbourne Road. Inside there are two real fires lit during the winter months and interesting nooks and crannies to allow for private or romantic candlelit dining. We have a large piano with pianist who plays on a Friday evening to add to the ambience. Excellent food is prepared by our head chef and his team. This can be accompanied by a quality wine or real ale, if preferred. Historically the pub was built for John Mundy, a wealthy landowner in the mid 1500’s. He was a Mayor of London and became knighted. Another family member, Anthony was a respected playwright and acquaintance of William Shakespeare. William Fox Talbot, discoverer of photographic negatives, married into the Mundy family and was a regular drinker at the Mundy Arms.
