Double Locks is a country pub, half an hour’s walk from Exeter City Centre at Marsh Barton. Built originally as a lock house in 1701, it was remodelled in 1827. Surrounded by fields and situated on the banks of the Exeter Ship Canal it is easily accessible. Although extended over the years with the addition of a large conservatory, it has retained a very traditional feel, full or character and history. Two log fires provide an extension to the warm welcome offered by staff and regular locals alike. This is a popular destination dining venue and real ale pub and, despite being seasonal due to its location, is a hospitable establishment any time of the year. All our food is cooked to order, using fresh produce, locally sourced whenever possible, offering a range of delicious home-cooked food from sausage and mash to chilli-con-carne. Your first visit is certain not to be your last.
