Set in the small village of Maesycwmmer, the Angel is can be found by the local viaduct down a lane. This is a very quaint, old fashioned pub dating back to 1850 when it started out as a women’s jail. The pub has three parts, the middle being listed and the two ends being extensions added over the years. Recently decorated, the inside has been carefully updated to offer a bright and comfortable atmosphere. Our lounge has comfy seating as well as being laid out for diners, this is also a good choice for a private party. The bar is separate from the lounge and also has comfortable seating in the form of sofas, chairs and bar stools. Attracting locals during the week we see many people in for our curry night as well and Sport enthusiasts who can watch an exciting game over a pint. We are very welcoming to passers by, with many diverting off from the main road which goes between Ystrad Mynach and Blackwood. Come and try our very well known delicious homemade pub food, pop over on Sunday for our roast or come in anytime for a refreshing pint. Mike and the team look forward to seeing you.
