The Hereford Arms in Kensington is described as “a traditional English Country Inn in the centre of London”. The pub dates back to the 1700’s and is alleged to have been one of the drinking holes of Jack the Ripper. In more recent times it has always been a firm favourite with United States visitors since the Second World War, as US servicemen were stationed across the square in Hereford Place. Today we have a wide selection of people from all walks of life as, for example, corporate business, students from the drama school nearby and local residents. The pub is all on one level, open plan with the non smoking dining area separated by a wooden structure. The new outdoor seating area with heaters for colder days and electric canopies is a great spot to watch the world go by. Food is a very important part of what we are about. Meals are chosen from chalk boards and the chef’s daily specials. All food is freshly prepared and cooked to order to be eaten anywhere in the pub. We have some particular favourites such as the traditional beer battered fish & chips cooked to a Northern recipe and a home mixed Shepherds Pie with a touch of something special. There is an excellent selection of red and white wines to accompany your meal or, if preferred, several real ales. We have Cask Marque accreditation which ensures you are served an ale to the highest standard. We can hire out the whole building for private parties or get togethers of up to 100 people. Come and check out this hospitable pub soon. Mike (the publican) and the friendly team will give you a very warm welcome. His is a Guinness or Kronenbourg, by the way.
