A traditional 16th Century pub, The Nags Headhas real history and heritage as it is claimed to have been a regular haunt of Dr Samuel Johnson. He is said to have sat in our library when starting to write the first dictionary. The pub is also listed in the Doomsday Book, courtesy of its post box, which is still in use today. The Nags Head is within easy reach of Lichfield Cathedral and also the famous Cannock Chase preservation area, which is ideal for walking and observing wildlife. Our function room is very popular for parties and weddings. The room can comfortably accommodate up to 100 people seated and 140 for a buffet. During the week our clientele is very mixed with many office workers spending their lunch break with us, whereas at weekends we welcome families having a day out. Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities. The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. The chefs create fish specials which have to be tasted. To complement your meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines or real ales and other drinks are available at the bar. Easily accessible from Junction 10 of the M42 to Burntwood and nearby Lichfield, our friendly staff will ensure you have a great time.
