Dirty Dicks has been a city institution in the heart of Bishopsgate, close to Liverpool Street tube station, since 1745. Steeped in history it is thought to have inspired Dickens interpretation of Miss Haversham in Great Expectations. Set over three levels this deeply traditional pub has an abundance of timber beams, panelling and exposed brick. At street level the main bar is a dimly lit, windowless cavern of dark stained wood. The upstairs bar forms a gallery and the vaulted cellar, which pre-dates the upper floors. The top floor houses our restaurant. There are plenty of leaning posts to rest your pint on. Food ranges from traditional British dishes to modern European twists. Our famous fish & chips has to be tasted. All is freshly cooked to order. To complement your meal there is an excellent selection of wines to choose from or the full range of Young’s cask ales if preferred. You can enjoy your meal or drink on any of the three floors, matching the atmosphere to your mood. During
