Toby Carvery Waterside, known for many years as The Waterside, re-opened its doors in December 2014 as a new Toby Carvery. As the name suggests, we have a patio area overlooking a nine acre lake in the Sankey Valley, probably having the best view in St Helens. The pub is located half way between Manchester and Liverpool, three miles from the M6 and Haydock Park, therefore attracting a lot of coach parties from these venues. The pub was originally built in 1991 and looks very much like two houses, occupying a prominent position on the corner of a busy junction, yet set back from the road. It is attractive to look at as we have hanging baskets and flower troughs with displays during the summertime and even the car park is surrounded by trees, not bleak as car parks tend to be. Although you can dine anywhere in the pub, full table service is offered in the restaurant. This is a very popular destination food house offering good food at reasonable prices, with friendly service in a welcoming atmosphere. There is a round the lake walk which takes about 1 hour 20 minutes enjoyed by many local ramblers before calling in for a meal or a drink. Other clientele include National Powerboat and Fishing Association members. Having tried us once you’re sure to come back for more, so see you soon!
